| 2006 |
Transformation into Affin Investment Bank
Berhad |
2006 was a year of change for us. Firstly, we changed our name from Affin Merchant Bank Berhad into Affin Investment Bank Berhad, which came with a transformation of our logo to synergise with Affin Holdings Group's (The Group) rebranding exercise. The name change followed with the building and growing of a wider business base needed for the creation of a synergistic investment banking model for this market. This marked a significant step forward by the Bank as it took on the lead role in rationalising The Group's investment banking related business under one single roof. As part of the rationalisation programme, the former businesses of Affin Discount Berhad and Affin Securities Sdn Bhd were transferred to the Bank in 2006 and early 2007 respectively. The Bank also acquired Affin Fund Management Sdn Bhd and Affin Trust Management Berhad from Affin Holdings Berhad in 2006 to complete the transformation into a full-fledged Investment Bank.
